What we collect
- Your email address, when you sign in, to identify your account, send sign-in codes, send your receipt and license, and send one reminder two days before your free trial ends.
- An identifier for your Mac, so each Mac gets one free trial and a license works on one Mac at a time. The app sends a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware ID, never the ID itself, along with the Mac's model name and the macOS and app versions.
- Purchase records: which licenses you bought and which Mac each is on. Payments are handled by Stripe, which receives your payment details; we never see your card number.
- Invoices: the name, billing address and VAT number you give at checkout, printed on your invoice and kept for as long as tax law requires.
- Anonymous visit counts: when you open a page here, we count it with the page, the site that linked to it, your country and your type of device. Visitors are told apart only within one day, by a code made from your network address and browser that changes every day and can't be traced back to you. Installer downloads and the app's daily update check are counted the same way, which tells us how many Macs use MrFixable. No cookies, nothing stored on your device, and the counts are deleted after 13 months.
- Messages you send us from the Contact page: your name if you give it, your email address and your message, so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
What we never collect
- Anything the fixes work with: your clipboard history, text snippets, window positions, keystrokes, files and settings stay on your Mac.
- Audio. App Volume processes sound live on your Mac and never records or stores it, even though macOS shows “System Audio Recording” while it works.
- Usage analytics in the app, advertising identifiers, cookies that track you, or anything that follows you from one site or one day to the next.
- Your IP address. It's used only for a moment to tell visits apart, as described above, and never stored.
Updates
The app checks mrfixable.com for updates. That request includes the app's version, so we can offer the right update.
Deleting your data
Email support@mrfixable.com from your account's address and we'll delete your account and its records. We keep purchase records only as long as tax law requires.
